Academic Regulations for Chinese Language Programs

1. Students shall abide by the class discipline. Tsinghua University attaches great importance to regular attendance at classes. Twenty minutes late for a class will be recorded with one unexcused absence mark. In case of necessitating absence, students shall obtain permission from the academic affairs office of ICLCC (International Chinese Language&Culture Center) located at Room 213,Building C and apply in writing with documentary evidence.

2. A student cannot be awarded the completion certificate:

2.1 if his record of absence adds up to 90 class hours (30 percent of the total class hours ) ;

2.2 if his record of unexcused absence adds up to 45 class hours (15 percent of the total class hours) ;

2.3 if he is absent from one or more courses of final examinations;

2.4 if he fails two or more courses of final examinations.

3. A student whose record of unexcused absence adds up to more than 60 class hours is not permitted to continue his study of next semester.

4. If a student is found cheating in examination, his score of the exam will be 0.

5. No supplementary examination for student who is absent from examinations without permit.

6. Students are only allowed to change classes within the first week of term.

7. The transcripts and completion certificates of study for Chinese language are issued by ICLCC to students who have finished their studies.
