International Student Exchange Programs

At present, Tsinghua University has established Agreements or MOU with 30 overseas universities on student exchange, the names of which are listed in International Student Exchange Partnership. In order to facilitate the study of the exchanged foreign students, more than 200 courses are offered in English at Tsinghua on both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Foreign students who are willing to participate in the exchange program and study at Tsinghua University may inquire the international office of their home university for more information about the program. The eligibility requirements and approcedures are described in Exchange Program of Tsinghua University 2010.

The department/schools of Tsinghua University have also cooperative relationships with overseas universities. Many of them have signed department/school - level agreements on student exchange. The interested foreign students may inquire their home department/school for more information.

Visiting Student / Advanced Study Programs

Tsinghua University possesses advanced research facilities and rich teaching resources, including more than 200 undergraduate and graduate courses offered in English. Foreign students who are willing to take courses or do research at Tsinghua as a visiting student may apply to Foreign Student Affairs Office, Tsinghua University. It is suggested that before submitting applications, the applicants ask for advice from their supervisor/tutor in home institution and discuss with relevant department/school of Tsinghua University.

Chinese Language Program

The Chinese Language Program serves to promote the Chinese language throughout the world and to help people in other countries acquire a better understanding of China. Any qualified foreigner, overseas Chinese, or compatriot from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan may apply to Foreign Student Affairs Office, Tsinghua University for this program. The academic year for this program is divided into two semesters: (1) spring semester: Feb-Jun; (2) autumn semester: Sep - Jan. Each semester consists of 18 weeks (4 class hours per day). The lessons are taught by instructors from The Tsinghua University International Chinese Language & Culture Centre (ICLCC).
